Beyond This Horizon by Robert A. Heinlein - First Edition - 1948 - from TristanBooks and Biblio.com

Beyond This Horizon

by Robert A. Heinlein

Condition: Fine-/Near Fine-

Beyond This Horizon by Robert A. Heinlein (author of Rocket Ship Galileo, Have Space Suit Will Travel, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, The Puppet Masters, etc.) Heinlein's second novel. Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Fantasy Press 1948. $3.00 cover price, dust jacket art by A.J. Donnell, and four interior illustrations by Robert Breck. Light red boards with gold-color lettering. 242 pages.

Fine- in Near Fine-/Very Good++ Dust Jacket. A very nice presentable and smart copy with only a couple of shortcomings to the dust jacket. The book itself is very clean, pages bright, corners straight, tiniest hint of dustiness to the lower corner of the front board, else just about fine. Dust Jacket is quite bright and clean on the front, main shortcomings some fraying to top and bottom of the spine, and typical soiling to the back, and some fading to the red lettering on the spine. Some places strengthened with archival adhesive to the back of the dust jacket.

NOTE: Book collectors should be aware there are some sellers offering the Gossett and Dunlap edition priced near the same as a first edition. They are NOT first editions, even though they have a nearly identical dust jacket design. Do not buy the G&D editions at premium prices, as they could never be resold into the market for near the same price. If you wish such a book, you should not have to pay more than about $25 for such copies.

NOTE: The pictures shown are of the actual books for sale. These are NOT stock photos!

ALSO: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.

Beyond This Horizon is a science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein. It was originally published as a two-part serial in Astounding Science Fiction (April, May 1942, as by Anson MacDonald) and then eventually as a single volume by Fantasy Press in 1948.
