Tape repair to front endpaper, rubber stamp and owner signature on front endpaper, normal aging; otherwise very good. Many illustrations, including an illuminated title page by Thomas Nast. Text and illustrations try and give a feel for life on the prairies, mountains and the Pacific Coast. Richardson presents views of Indians, trappers, pioneers and some of the curiosities of the western territories in his work.
