About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1968 WYSIWYG pricing--no added shipping charge for standard shipping within USA. We suspect this is a book club edition. Black cloth, gilt titles & decorations, [viii], 242, [2] pp. Some spotting to top edge, spine sunned, shaken front hinge reglued with acid-free PVA. Price-clipped DJ creased top to bottom on both panels and rear flap, small edge tears head of spine somewhat tattered; in Brodart archival cover. Reischauer brought the knowledge and experience of many years of working in, studying, and writing about the Far East to this book on American foreign policy in Asia. He was a military intelligence officer in WW2, worked in the State Department's Division of Far Eastern Affairs, served as Ambassador to Japan from 1961 to 1966, and was co-author (with John K. Fairbank) of a standard history of East Asia. Shipping weight 2 lbs.. 2nd ptg. . VG/VG-. 22 X 15 cm.

Books are offered subject to prior sale. You may return any book within 14 days for a refund; if it was not as described, we will also refund return shipping costs (but please e-mail us first). You can place credit card orders through Biblio, or we will ship upon receipt of payment by check or money order. Sales tax is collected by Biblio and remitted directly to your state, where applicable. SHIPPING IN UNITED STATES: Books are priced postpaid, so there are no additional shipping charges for standard shipping. We will ship via Priority Mail for $12.00 per order (Save on multiple-book orders!). This may be reduced if actual postage is less than for a medium flat-rate box. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: In most cases, shipping via Biblio's consolidated shipping program via Asendia is the cheapest option on orders up to 5 lbs. If the actual cost of shipping is more than the automatically quoted rate, you must approve the additional charges before the order will be shipped. Shipping charges will be reduced if shipping weight is under 3 lbs. All shipping charges (except via Asendia) include 17% to cover Biblio fees and commissions that apply to these charges.
