A deluxe Heritage Press reprint edition offering a version of the Bhagavad Gita, a section of the longer Mahabharata, an epic poem and essential Hindu scripture. The text is presented in Sanskit and side-by-side in English on versos and rectos of leaves. The translation into English was prepared by Sir Edwin Arnold. Includes color plates with paintings by Y. G. Srimati (which are described in detail at rear of book) and an introduction by Shri Sri Prakasa. Sandglass leaflet laid in (New York, no. VIII:30). --- In yellow cloth-covered boards with decorations in red and green, titling in gilt on red spine block and red topstain. Volume housed in red paper-covered slipcase with decorations in yellow to front and rear panels. --- With prior owner's bookplate pasted to front paste-down, and with sunning to spine, otherwise volume is in excellent shape: clean, unmarked and bright. Slipcase with chafing to extremities, but is otherwise undamaged and is structurally sound.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xx. 128 pages .
