Tako Hajo Jelgersma (1702-1795). Biblical scene of the finding of Moses with Bithiah, the daughter of the Pharaoh. Original watercolour, grisaille. (Haarlem, ca. 1790). ca. 28 x 19.5 cm, tipped on contemporary mount, ca. 37.5 x 29 cm.
Fine and attractive original watercolour drawing by Tako Hajo Jelgersma (1702-1795), painter, draftsman, grisaille painter and decorative painter (of interiors). He also drew copies after old masters; his grisailles were in the manner of Jacob de Wit. Unsigned, attributed to Jelgersma by R.J.A. te Rijdt (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam).
