From an edition of 180 copies, this is one of only a few that has been hand-colored "at the heart of the book" (leaf 27) by the artist, Jim Dine. Signed by Dine on the colophon page. Illustrated with a total of forty-two lithographs, some on their own and others integrated with the text of O'Hara's last long poem. Accompanied by a booklet, Companion to Biotherm, with an essay and glossary by Bill Berkson, the poet and literary critic to whom the poem is dedicated. Sheets and booklet housed in a red cloth-covered box with the title silk-screened on the lid. All are in fine condition. Includes the original shipping container. (Arion Bibliography 32).

This is the Prospectus only, not a copy of the book. Includes order form insert. BW Images. Provenance: From the estate of Gerald Nordland (1927-2019). Nordland was a museum director, art critic, educator and author. Dean of the Chouinard Art Institute (1960-64), Director of the San Francisco Museum of Art (now SFMoMA) (1966-73), Milwaukee Art Museum (1977-85), and the UCLA Wight Art Gallery (1973-1977). He is the author of over 60 publications, including books on Lachaise, Nakian, Diebenkorn and Frank Lloyd Wright.

A Fine copy. A striking production of O'Hara's last long poem, addressed to the poet and critic Bill Berkson, which first appeared in The Collected Poems of Frank O'Hara. The 24pp booklet contains Berkson's essay "Air and Such," along with a glossary of notes, references, and quotations that appear in the poem, and a publisher's note by Andrew Hoyem. Arion No.32.
