About This Item

New York, NY: Avon Books , 1972 Avon Books, New York. 1972. Softcover/Trade Wraps. Stated First Avon Printing 1972. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Very Good; light edge bumps; slight opening crease on spine; light suntanning to spine and rear panel; slight rubbing to panels. No DJ. Pictorial card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is slightly creased; text is secure in binding. 163 pp 8vo. This is the story of a man and airplane and it is an adventure of the human spirit. It began in NC where Dick Back turned in his modern plane for an open-cockpit 1929 biplane. Before the journey ended in Los Angeles, he would see an America from a view few have seen. He would-alone-endure the bitter cold, the torturous winds and rainstorms, but he would reap the rewards of being a young man doing just what he wanted to do: fly!. A clean very presentable copy.
