Neltje Blanchan De Graff Doubleday (1865-1918) was an American scientific historian and nature writer who published several books on wildflowers and birds under the pen name Neltje Blanchan. Her work is known for its synthesis of scientific interest with poetic phrasing, and most editions are usefully illustrated. In his introduction, (General) G. O. "Nature is not lavish of her beauties; They are widely scattered and occasionally displayed, to be selected with care, and gathered with difficulty" -- Lord Byron (1821). Full Cloth. Hardcover.
