This work regards the birds of Massachusetts and other New England States. Complete in three volumes. With ninety three plates and a frontispiece across all volumes. Edward Howe Forbush was a prolific writer. This work is his most well-known and popular as it was a valuable reference text in the ornithological field with regards to New England and to the North East of America. The first edition of this work. In full cloth bindings with gilt stamping to the spine and front boards. Externally, generally smart with bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpapers. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned. Light scattered spotting to the plates and the odd spots throughout. Very Good Indeed
