Gilt lettering, and top and bottom of spine are lightly worn. All corners are lightly worn and bumped. Bottom and top edges have minimal rubbing. Fore and bottom edges have light soil, top edge has medium soil. Front gutter is starting to crack but binding is still relatively tight. Previous owner's bookplates on front pastedown. Light foxing on endleaves. Interior is clean. This beautiful bird book has 25 color plates, 54 b&w plates, and 136 b&w figures. All plates and figures are in very good condition. There is an errata sheet before the table of contents. This book was compiled by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in cooperation with the State Game Protective Association and the Bureau of Biological Survey (precursor to the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service) . The preface states that this is the first comprehensive report on the bird life of the Southwest. ; 4to 9" - 11" tall; 807 pp .
