Two volumes very sturdily bound in plain green boards with green cloth spine (volume 2, 1962 about fine) and marbled green boards with green cloth spine (volume 1, 1961). Both volumes are unmarked, clean, crisp, and square. Both still stiff to open. Volume 1 has a four-strand scrape to rear board. Bright gilt titles to front and spine. All illustrations are full-page. A remarkable pair of books. ; 16 x 12.5 x 2" .

Bound in quarter brown leather and green leather boards with gilt lettering on spines. Edges of textblocks gilt. Marbled endpapers. Age-toning to leather along edges of Volume 2, and bumping to corners. Interior pages clean in all volumes. Profusely illustrated with 875 full-color plates throughout. JL consignment. Shelved Front Table. Rex Brasher was an eccentric American artist who supported much of his work and travel through gambling, engraving, and even fishing. This set contains brilliant illustrations from Brasher's life's work, painting every species and sub-species of bird identified in the American Ornithologists' Union's Check-list of North American Birds.
