Spine head folded over, spine taill worn, corners bumped, some spots to cloth. Hinges cracking internally. Tear in front free endpaper. Pages neat and clean.
Each issue has about 40 p. of double-column printing. This is the third and last volume as it lasted only 3 years. Includes soldiers' reminiscences, stories, book reviews, GAR encampments, letters, etc. Specifically, contains origins of the "John Brown" song, poetry by Bret Harte, editorial in March on the weakness and strength of America as a military and naval power, article on the Trent Affair, etc.
