Du Bois from Russell Scholars' Classics, published in 1956, in the publisher's scarce dust jacket.. Octavo, [8], 746pp. Black cloth, title printed in silver on spine. No additional printings mentioned on copyright page. Dust along edges of text block, light soiling to endpapers. In the publisher's dust jacket, chipping along edges, closed tears to spine, archival tissue repair to hinge of spine, a scarce jacket with noted condition issues. The first edition of Black Reconstruction was published by Harcourt, Brace and Company of New York in 1935. [10], 746 pp. Early ownership inscription at top of ffep: "James Wesley Ashfard[?] Jr." CONDITION: Very good-, extremities lightly rubbed, partial separation at lower hinge, occasional pencil and ink markings and annotations throughout.
