New York: Leonard Scott & Co, 1846. Hardcover. Good +. [2], 776 p.; 23 cm. Contemporary half calf with marbled paper over boards. Gilt-tooled spine title "Blackwood's Magazine"; blind-tooled decoration on spine. This volume contains fiction (including satire and horror), reviews and other nonfiction including travel, and poetry, all published anonymously, as was typical of periodical publications at the time. Includes: the final part of The Americans and the Aborigines: A Tale of the Short War; The Death of Zumalacarregui by Col. Lord Howden; On the Operation of the English Poor-Laws; and an index. In Good Condition: cover is rubbed with minor loss at tail of spine; occasional ink and other stains in the margins; otherwise, clean and tight.
