Some spotting, particularly to textblock edge. Spine-ends a little bumped, dustjacket soiled, torn and chipped with small losses at ends of spine panel. Signed to half-title ‘Dugald Campbell, 1934, Arbroath’, ‘the author’ in ink above. A work by Scottish missionary, amateur ethnologist and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society Dugald Campbell. It contains chapters on ‘Bantuland and Bantu Languages’, ‘Cannibalism, slavery, and Congo horrors’ and ‘Witchcraft and cruelties’. Rare in dustjacket.
