Garden City Publishing Co., Inc., Garden City, NY, 1898. Hardcover. Condition: Good +. No Jacket. Marguerite Kirmse (illustrator). Book is rust board with red lettering on spine. Top and bottom spine are rubbed, top of spine shows 1/4 inch of loosened red fabric. Front cover is full page colorful paste down, which depicts dog in forest, and red border with red lettering. Red top edge. End papers depict a dog and sheep in brown, both front and rear. Frontispiece in color "Snuffling at the door, Bob scratched and pleaded to get in.Six parts to this book , each ending in a full page illustration. Then the following chapter has 1/4 page illustration at top. In addition, 4 internal color illustrations. Book is square and tight. Garden City Publishing, New York., 1898. First Edition Boards Spine is bright, solid, edge wear on front cover., two corner tips with slight breaking of cloth, Inside of book is tight, clean, bright, clear, flat. no names or marks on pages.I. Illustrated by Margueritte Kirmse. Many black/white line drawings.
