1692 1ed PURITAN Thomas Watson Sermons Westminster Catechism English Civil War
Thomas Watson was a 17th-century Puritan preacher who is best remembered for his numerous sermons preached regarding the Westminster Shorter Catechism. However, his life and sermons were not without controversy. He was imprisoned for his involvement in the plot to restore Charles II to the English crown and was barred from preaching for many of his nonconformist views.
His portfolio of sermons he preached on the Westminster Catechism were published as one extensive collection. This 1692 edition of these sermons was published in Thomas Parkhurst in London and has long sense been an excellent example of Puritan practical theology.
