[hydropathy (medicine) , therapeutic system that professes to cure all disease with water, either by bathing in it or by drinking it. ]A BOLD ARRAIGNMENT OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION, FOR THE PRACTICE OF FALSE THEORIES. Theories on whether using the cold bath to cure all fevers is a fraudulent science or not with the papers of Drs. Simon Baruch and G. C. Smythe on the treatment of Typhoid Fever with cold water. The author is a proponent of the use of water as a therapy and/or cure and goes on to discuss its various beneficial applications while he also continuously chastises the medical profession for their derision of Hydropathy. The author was definitely a radical thinker who believed the medical profession did more harm than good for their patients. Ink ownership on blank page, also, "don't believe all this fellow says" at bottom of page. In the same hand on pp. Xxx and xxxi are additional humorous notations in pencil. 9 copies of this book located worldwide on the Worldcat database. Contents clean and tight, front interior hinge cracked, binding w/ extremities rubbed. Front cover hinge partly cracked. .
