[hydropathy (medicine) , therapeutic system that professes to cure all disease with water, either by bathing in it or by drinking it. ]A BOLD ARRAIGNMENT OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION, FOR THE PRACTICE OF FALSE THEORIES. Theories on whether using the cold bath to cure all fevers is a fraudulent science or not with the papers of Drs. Simon Baruch and G. C. Smythe on the treatment of Typhoid Fever with cold water. The author is a proponent of the use of water as a therapy and/or cure and goes on to discuss its various beneficial applications while he also continuously chastises the medical profession for their derision of Hydropathy. The author was definitely a radical thinker who believed the medical profession did more harm than good for their patients.
