Studdy Bonzo Annual 1949 has the colour pictorial front board featuring Bonzo firing a pea-shooter at a man who is balancing a vase holding fish in water, causing it to spill onto a crown prince who is sitting on his throne. The G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual binding is in Very Good condition with the front board having edge wear, and fading to the original cloth spine but is still attractive for this post-war children’s illustrated book. The publisher’s plain back board has a small doodle but is otherwise clean. G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual contents is stunning filled with colour tinted illustrations of Bonzo. The colour frontispiece is entitled Prince Bonzo and His Slave Bango. Opposite the frontispiece is the Illustrated Title Page which features a large illustration of Bonzo eating ice cream. The G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual has 20 stories illustrated with numerous sketches by G.E. Studdy. The pages are in overall Good to Very Good condition with the plain white papers having a child’s writing and doodles to the front endpapers and rear endpapers, with a closed tear and a small piece missing from the bottom corner of the rear endpaper, and a closed tear and creasing to the illustration on page 93.
