About This Item

New York: The Borzoi/Alfred A. Knopf. , 1918. 1918 Knopf edition. (First published 1918 by Philip Goodman as "Damn! A Book of Calumny"). Either edition now scarce. This is a clean, crisp and well bound copy. The only marking is an owner name and date (Dec. 15, 1920) penciled to front free endpaper. Pages are overall clean - faint damp-mark to bottom page corners through last half of book, a few pages with scattered small marginal spottings; two leaves with corner creases. Bound in dark blue cloth with blind embossed lettering on front board, gilt lettering to spine. Cover is clean - gilt lettering has faded; spine ends and corners rubbed and lightly worn. Binding and hinges firm and intact. An attractive copy of this uncommon early edition.. 5 x 7-1/2". 139 pages. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Slim 8vo.
