The Jacket Is Unclipped But Shows Some Wear, Chipping And Closed Tears. Former Owner Name On Ffep With A Mark Suggesting A Missing Bookplate.

Wide open boozing was a fact of life in the pioneer west of Canada. And it didn't stay in Canada - booze runners came into the states. In Winnipeg, there is a legend that the city had an informal arrangment with Ginger Snooks, its most famous scavenger, to make a midnight sweep of the alleys behind the Main Street hotels with horse and wagon during the late fall and winter, and to cart the passed-out drunks to the police station. His fee was one dollar per body delivered..
