The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original price intact on the front flap and comes with a clear, protective sleeve (not shown). From the dust jacket: "This collection takes its title from a short piece he wrote about the 'Jazz Age' in The Crack-Up, 'an age of miracles, an age of art, an age of excess and an age of satire...it had a wild youth and a heady middle age...it ended two years ago [1929], because the utter confidence which was its essential prop received an enormous jolt...it was borrowed time anyhow.'
