[Groningen] In agris occupatis: [A. Thos. Mooij et al], 1944. First Edition. Octavo; tan wrappers, printed in purple and black; 16pp; frontispiece after C.A.B. Bantzinger. Covers and contents gently tanned, else Fine. Final number in the series "Volière reeks." A clandestine publication produced during the German occupation. One of 310 copies printed, of which 132 were confiscated and destroyed; this copy out of series, unnumbered on colophon. A brief erotic fantasy by Ab Visser, designed and printed by Henrik Werkman; engraved frontispiece by Bantzinger. Normally titles in this series were limited to a hundred copies. However due to a previous arrangement by Visser, for this final number in the "Voliere Reeks" series, an extra two hundred copies were printed for the Amsterdam publishing house "De Bezige Bij;" however a portion of the shipment was interecepted, seized and destroyed by Nazi censors.
