Good overall in red buckram in a good dust jacket (name and date of Christmas 1941 on front endpaper, usual toning to the pages, edgewear to the dj, especially at the ends of the spine). Later printing. The story is full of instructions on how to take a long hiking trip (how to break in shoes, get a cook fire going, etc) although the 8 boys encounter some surprises and adventure along the way. 304 pp.
