"Authorized by the Canadian General Council as the Handbook of the Boy Scouts Association in Canada, and published for the Canadian General Council." - title page. Colour-illustrated pastedowns on boards are substantially faded. Very heavy overall wear and soiling. Back board present but detached. Prior owner's name and date (1919) upon title page. Many black and white illustrations in text, including an intriguing Thanks Badge on page 83 which consists of ' a Swastika with a fleur-de-lis superimposed.' Despite its many shortcomings, a worthy and uncommon reference copy of this vintage first Canadian edition. Spadoni & Donnelly 465..
