[Berkeley]: [Political Poster Workshop at the University of California, Berkeley], 1970. 14.75x21.75 inch poster silkscreened on the back of conjoined sheets of computer printout paper, as usual for the products of this workshop at Berkeley. Very good. In the Maggs Bros book "4973: Berkeley Protest Posters 1970," this poster is number 20. In an ironic re-use of a slogan used during Nixon's campaign, the words appear under rows of military graves. Participants in the Political Poster Workshop practiced the techniques of silkscreened poster production on sheets of used computer printout paper. Most of the products of this workshop are very scarce, for obvious reasons.

New York: N.G. Slater, 1972. Original poster, measuring 14 1/2" x 11 1/2". Printed in red and black on card stock. Near Fine with minimal wear. Shirley Chisholm was the first Black woman elected to the United States Congress. This poster was created for her 1972 presidential campaign, in which she was the first Black candidate to seek a major party's nomination--a story told in the recent miniseries Mrs. America. From the estate of Etta Moten Barnett (1901-2004) of Chicago.
