Trevelyan provides a picture of the change and development during the hundred and twenty years when things and also men and women were undergoing a more rapid change of character than in any previous epoch, political, economic and social. Bound in red cloth with gilt titles on spine; very clean and unmarked with slight sunning to spine. Sewn binding is tight and solid. Former owner names on endpaper, two crossed out. Hinge cracked at pages 80/81. Internals quite clean, lightly toned, no marks of any kind. Dates in the margins by appropriate text. 8 Maps. 445 pages with index. 5.75 x 9 inches. 1936, Longman Green and Co., London-New York-Toronto
