XIV, 250 pages, last blank, contributors of pictures, prints , and information -- to whom grateful thanks are returned by the author, list of illustrations, publisher's note to the 1965 edition and index. Illustrated frontispiece, being a reproduction of " Shooting Plover " by Francis Barlow. The text is illustrated with numerous coloured and black-and-white illustrations of famous ( not so famous ] sporting paintings from England. Orange coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and there is shelf wear to the lower book edges. Very, very light browning to the endpapers and internal pages. Dust marks to the paper edges along with some light browning. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing to scenes hunting on horses and on the back panel shooting with dogs, with black background and yellow writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed and somewhat faded. Rubbing and very slight chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. The fold over panels have become quite yellow. his book was first published in 1922 and it follows the most talented of British sporting artists from the 17th century to the late Victorian times.
