Victoria, Australia: Hill House, 1990. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good +. 524pp. Folio [35cm]. Two volumes bound in scarlet cloth, one in bright blue. All have titles stamped in gilt on spine. The cloth of volume III has a spot of sun bleaching. Each volume has a small prior retailer's sticker affixed to the front pastedown. Mild rubbing to dust jackets. Hundreds of Northern Hemisphere butterfly species are beautifully illustrated and carefully labeled.

D' Abrera founded Hill House Press with his wife in 1982, primarily as a vehicle to publish his own work. The innovative, oversized style of D' Abrera's guides has been praised by both professional entomologists and amateur butterfly and moth enthusiasts.
