About This Item

The First UK printing published by Frederick Warne, London in 1933. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Light bumping to the corners. Offsetting to the pictorial end-papers. Some light creasing to the front paste-down (publisher's fault) otherwise very clean and bright internally. The scarce WRAPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Mild edge wear with two closed tears to the lower front cover. A light vertical crease to the rear cover. Some age related marking and toning but the wrapper presents very well in the removable Brodart archival cover. Profusely illustrated throughout in tritone colour by Clifford Webb who specialised in animal drawings, and also produced the illustrations for the first two books of the 'Swallows and Amazons' series by Arthur Ransome A very nice example of a scarce Children's title. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
