London: Ingram, Cooke, 1852. Second English Edition. 8vo, pp. 296 + adv. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, title vignette and 5 (of 6) engraved illustrations. Soiled publisher's cloth, leaves toned, a good copy. Howes P-502; Raines pp. 153-54; see Sabin 64537; Graff 3719; see also Wright I, 2327 (for the 1844 NY edition); Rader 2987. Postl (1793-1864) wrote several books about his travels in the US (1823-32). This is a novel concerning life in Texas. It was first issued in Zurich in 1841. It was reprinted as "Life in Texas" in a Philadelphia edition of 1845.
