Nouissime Reformatum.- Ex Typographia Linguarum Externarum- Catholic Church- Pope Clementis VIII- Ex Typographia Linguarum Externarum- Romae Mense Octobris- 1600- 1st Edition- Hardcover:-4to- VG/ no jacket as issued- Original fine full leather binding with five raised bands, six panels, five with gilt decorations and one titled in gilt- gilt decorated patterned edging on binding. Light rubs, but tight and square, in VG+ antiquarian condition- blank, [8], 1-349, [14] pages errata, marbled page edges, all clean, couple of specific underlined passages in old ink. Otherwise, clean with minimal tanning of pages- Collated Signatures: [A4], A4-I4, K4-U4, X4-Z4, Aa4-Ii4, Kk4-Uu4, Xx4-Zz4, [6]blank pages-Complete!- 1st blank page contains in back of book contains an Indulgence by Bishop Antonius, ex-Comitibus Guidis at Balneo, (Bishop of Mantova from 1719 to 1761) "grants to all the faithful here present an Indulgence of forty [days] in the usual form of the Church."- Most likely this was his episcoporum- SEE PHOTOS- (more available please e-mail)- Text in black and red, large black initials, and 70 half page and one full page engravings + music. Illustration on page 276 is mounted, covering original illustration which probably was incorrect. This is similar to the copy at Yale University. Book is divided into 2 sections: Liber Primus and Liber Secondus. A jewel of a book.- Non-fiction-religion-Catholic Church-Ceremony of Bishops-Liturgy-illustrated (3746) . 1st Edition.
