Charming story in verse about Santa Claus' younger brother, Santa Criss, and two magical figures that emerge from two bonbons he made. Illustrated mainly in duotone (black and white plus one additional color) plus several full color plates. Blue cloth lettered in gilt with color illustration mounted on the front cover, patterned endpapers, 96 pages. Covers have some finger soil and edgewear, with light fraying to corners and spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, two bits of old adhesive on the front pastedown, a few tiny chips and closed tear to the far lower margins, light foxing to dedication page, very minor old transparent stain to the far top margins, gift notation on the verso of the front free endpaper, pages otherwise unmarked and generally clean with a few instances of light finger soil.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/No. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

New York: E. P. Dutton & Co., 1924. Third printing, 1924, same year as the first. Red cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, no dustjacket. Light rubbing to the extremities, just a touch of barely noticeable finger soil to the cover, gilt somewhat dulled but very clearly legible, good hinges, sound text block, slightly age-toned but clean pages, no names or other markings.. Hard Cover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

New York: Prentice- Hall, Inc., 1921. First edition, title page dated 1921. Story of a boy and his dog in Texas, with six black and white plates plus a color frontis with tissue. Dark blue cloth with color illustration mounted on the front cover, lettering in gilt, no dustjacket, possibly as issued. Very good copy with very light rubbing to corners and spine ends, good hinges, firm text block, very clean pages with an old gift notation on the reverse side of the frontis illustration, no other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Hilarous children's book featuring a sneezing elephant, a story in very expressive pictures rather than words (other than Ah-Choo!). Illustrated in black and white. Pictorial hardcover, oblong format, about 5.25" x 6", matching dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with some rubbing to the spine ends, good hinges, firm text block, very clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is priceclipped and is in near fine condition, no chips or tears.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Oblong 12mo.

Paris; New York: Robert Delpire; Universe Books, 1956. First US edition, 2nd edition overall. Long, narrow hardcover (10.5 x about 3.25 inches) with original mailing carton that has a window for the crocodile's snout to be visible. Some age-speckling to the white background, slightly darkened area consistent with the mailing box window, one inch tape repair to the bottom of the rear cover, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with some minor age-toning to the first and last pages, no names or other markings. The mailing box has some old tape marks to the far end (tape has long ago fallen off), minor soil, French stamps but no postmark. Our guess is that the mailing box was never intended to be actually used to mail the book but was just there for effect. . Hard Cover. Very Good/Good Mailing Box. Narrow Oblong 8vo.

A couple of light smudges to the front cover, good hinges, firm text block, clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is very good with only light edge rubbing, no paper loss.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Norwich, Connecticut: The Henry Bill Publishing Company, Sold By Subscription, 1887. First edition, 1887, signed by the author on the title page, and with a letter written by Blaine laid in loosely at the front. Handsome copy in custom binding for George A. Zabriskie, bearing his initials in gilt inside the front cover and his armorial bookplate on a preliminary blank. Zabriskie was an avid book and art collector and member of both the Grolier Society and American Antiquarian Society. Full midnight blue morocco leather with floral decoration in gilt, raised spine bands with gilt decorated compartments, beautifully decorated inner covers in red and blue morocco decorated in gilt - in lieu of pastedowns - moire silk free endleaves in addition to the original marbled endpapers, all edges marbled, frontis portrait of the author, 525 pages.
