Simon Calburn has signed the front pastedown. Most especially the frontispage has an ORIGINAL, SIGNED, coloured illustration of three Black Korhaan (Afrotis afra). Signed by Calburn and dated 1969. This is fresh, gentle, as new! Full leather with stamped gilt illustration and titling. The book has a clear plastic protective dustjacket. The edges have shelving wear. There are some shallow storage marks. The boards are otherwise handsome, elegant, assured. Red silk bookmarker attached. The contents have very, very mild evidence of contented use. There are a number of different bookplates and a stamp from a previous owner (Roydon Peden). By far and overwhelmingly the contents are bright, very clean and very clear, very confident, gratifyingly keen, neat, smart and companionable. A lovely book. fk.
