The boards are faded and well rubbed and the titling by hand to the spine. Lib labels to front endpapers. Front wrap unmarked but has patches of uniform darkening. Colour frontis. present but of putative six remaining fullpage illustration pages only five can be found one of which appears to have been bound in incorrectly. [The 1950 2nd ed. also apparently only has a total of six illus.] Two of the illus. pages are loose and rubbed at the outer edge. Something of a homegrown publication and the binding is still precarious.
