A UK softcover edition of Mary Wesley's novel, which follows a group of cousins from their youth at their aunt's Cornish home, through the Second World War as they experience the ups and downs of life in England during a time of adversity. --- In white wraps with Sue Moxley illustration of a table set for tea, with a lawn stretching down to Cornish cliffs. --- The book remains in excellent condition, though with lightly tanned leaves, prior owner's embossed stamp to title page and reading creases to spine.; Small Octavo - 7-1/2 to 8 in. tall; 336 pages .

Synopsis

Mary Wesley was born in 1912. Her education took her to the London School of Economics, and during the war, she worked in the War Office. She published her first novel, Jumping the Queue at the age of seventy. It was followed by nine more. Mary Wesley died in 2002.
