The Campion series were produced after Leonard French resigned from a curatorial position at the Art Gallery of Victoria. Loosely based on the life of Jesuit martyr, Edmund Campion, the paintings are both symbolic and spiritual in nature yet executed in the artist's bold and unique style. Signed by the artist. Quarto, original white rexine, 35 colour plates, near-fine copy in a midly rubbed dust-jacket that shows some wear at the extremities.
