1800. Very good condition. A charming naive woodcut print depicting this important Revolutionary War event, an unusual image, possibly from a children's history. Andre, adjutant to the British General Henry Clinton, is shown here in civilian clothes, his boot & hat removed, and the American patriot Hiram Paulding confronting Andre with the papers found just found in the boot. The figures naively depicted, and in a configuration not resembling other images of this event. There is a large oak tree at the left, the 4 figures at the center, and the horse shown at the right, eating grass. P. 104 printed above the border at the right. 5 1/2 x 3 1/2", on paper 10 1/2 x 9"
