First edition hard back binding in publisher's original cream cloth covers, red and black title and author lettering to the spine and front cover, colour advertisement end papers. Folio 11'' x 9''. Contains 253 printed pages of text with colour and monochrome illustrations and photographs throughout. Fine condition book in Very Good condition dust wrapper with sun fading to the spine, rubbing of the paper to the spine ends and corners. Loosely inserted Carnation Company employees letter dated 1975. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A.

Rear of jacket has small round stain, less than half-inch, and small surface dents.. 1 Durable tan linen over boards: decorated w/ bold red carnations icon and 'Carnation' company name, subtitles in black. End papers in color: old company ads. 253 p., 29 cm. Color and B&W photos and advertising facsimiles. Food industry company history: In 1899, E A (Elbridge Amos) Stuart, with vision and enthusiasm, began manufacturing evaporated milk, called "The Milk from Contented Cows". The first manufacturing facility was in Kent WA, south of Seattle. Inventor John Meyenberg developed the "Apparatus for Preserving Milk."
