Illustrator: Photographic and Illustrations. preface by author notes on the use of the glossary, glossary of carnations. The text is illustrated with 64 coloured plates and 47 black-and-white illustrations. Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt illustration of a carnation embossed to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour photographic dustwrapper with black colour titles to the front panel and backstrip. Part of the "The Garden in Colour" series. An easy to read and follow guide from the 1950s on the most rewarding of plants, with a surprising array of variation, the carnation. Softening to the head end to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower book edge. There is a stain to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel and textblock edges are brown, as are the pages. A few marks to the endpapers. Chipping to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and to the top dustwrapper corners and lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Sunning to the backstrip and a few handling marks to the dustwrapper panels. Browning to the verso of the dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dust Jacket price-clipped.
