Page edges toned, bottom front cover edge sunned, jacket has chips to edges and spine sunned. Set in the 1890s, this is a "tempestuous tale of gas-lit, gilt-edges New Orleans." Basis of the 1951 film My Forbidden Past, directed by Robert Stevenson and starring Robert Mitchum, Ava Gardner, and Melvyn Douglas. Jacket design by Robert Haberstock. (8-3/8"x5-3/4")
