Image measures 22.5 x 21.5". Page measures 26.75 x 24". Geneva: 1862<br/> <br/> This map of the Valley of Mexico (Anahuac) extends from Tampico just south of Veracruz, and includes Mexico City. Topography is the map's main subject, and fine engraving. Shows wonderful details of the highlands in the region of South East Mexico with elevations shown by hachure marks. Includes the names of cities and villages. Includes three inset views: the of elevation of Vera Cruz, the inactive volcano Iztaccihuatl and the active volcano of Popocatepetl, and lastly the inactive volcanoes Sierra Negra and Citaltepetl (Pico de Orizaba). This edition was published in 1862. Henri Louis Frederic de Saussure (1829-1905) was a Swiss mineralogist, entomologist and taxonomist. His travels to Mexico, the United States and the West Indies encouraged his interest in geography. This separate issue map is in very good condition.<br/> <br/>
