Carty's series of articles first published in 1926-27 that are up-dated and retold. "William Bowman recalled the first train ride into London in 1853. "We stopped at all the stations along the line, but it was difficult to leave the coaches, as there were no platforms as yet erected, and the mud was too deep to wade into. Woodstock was the largest place between Hamilton and London, and it was small enough to be rediculous".".George Peters Jr. was a young black fighter who held the Canadian middleweight championship in the 1870's His sister Clara also achieved fame as a fighter. George was quoted as saying, "The only man I was ever afraid of was my sister Clara." i2.
