London: Hamish Hamilton, 1941. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publishers pale green cloth with dark green lettering. The neat name on the FFEP of the (late), notable, collector, Derek Smith, otherwise a VG+ copy with bright and clean boards with foxing to the page block edges which creeps into the trext block in places. In the VERY RARE D/W priced 7/6 net to the inside flap (as called for). The D/W is in VG+ condition with a long (almost invisible) closed tear to the front panel and rubbing to the extremities. Uncommon.
Synopsis
The Case of the Constant Suicides, first published in 1941, is a detective story by John Dickson Carr. Like much of Dickson Carr's work, this novel is a locked room mystery, in addition to being a whodunnit. Unlike most of the other Dr. Fell novels, this story has a high humour level, reminiscent of the Henry Merrivale works.
