The AUTHOR'S FIRST BOOK, introducing his series character Scotland Yard Inspector Anthony Slade. Gribble (1908-1985) was a founding member of the Crime Writers Association who also wrote Westerns and books on criminology and other subjects. His many pseudonyms included James Gannett, Leo Grex, Piers Marlowe et al. A fine copy in fine dust jacket with only the barest wear. It would be hard to find a copy in better condition.
