Illustrated glossy paper covered boards, 8vo, 61 pp. Third variant of the first edition, with glossy boards, unclipped (195/195) dust jacket with short biography of the author on rear flap. No Beginner Books listed, and no Logo either on covers or dust jacket. Rear panel of dust jacket has blackboard with lettering "Educators hail The Cat in the Hat" at top, with four paragraphs of blurbs below. B-1 at bottom of dust jacket spine, but not on book cover. No marks in book, front hinge cracked but binding tight. Covers show very light edge wear. Dust jacket shows light wear to top and bottom of spine and corners. Book condition VG in VG Dj.

Synopsis

The Cat in the Hat is a children's book by Dr. Seuss, featuring a tall, anthropomorphic, mischievous cat, wearing a tall, red and white striped hat, and a bowtie. He also carries an umbrella. With the series of Beginner Books that The Cat inaugurated, Seuss promoted both his name and the cause of elementary literacy in the United States.
