London : Printed for the author by G Ayscough, and sold by C Rivington, 1738 A fair copy in contemporary full leather binding. The binding is complete but with front board detached, back board beginning to split at spine, and spine lacking some surface leather. Contents, however, are in very good clean condition. An extremely scarce early local flora. The author was born in Germany and was a medical practitioner and botanist. He was resident in the UK from 1719-49, moving to Nottingham in 1736. This work, published in 1738, went through 2 impression in that year, the second issue having a canceled dedication. A separate occasional dedication was published and this is sometimes bound into the work. This copy has a single page dedication. Contents: title (with ownership details to top); blank verso; dedication with blank verso; To the Reader 14pp; abbreviated names 2pp; text 231pp; blank; english index 9pp; blank; alphabetical list of plants for every month in the year pp 1-6; plants omitted 1p; errata 2pp; blank; General Distribution of Plants according to Mr Ray's Synopsis pp 1-24; Finis.
