Bit of old staining to first two leaves but a very respectable copy of a very rare item.Printed entirely in Nahuatl (but for the title page and chapter headings). Gastelu was the author of Arte de la Lengua Mexicana, an important work on the language of the Aztecs originally issued in 1745. This appears to be the fourth edition of his catechism. Gastelu was an acknowledged master of Nahuatl, and lived in Puebla and Mexico City his entire adult life. Only six copies located by OCLC.
