A beautiful signed copy of this classic Caldecott Award Honor award-winner that has enjoyed many reprints over nearly 40 years. Macaulay signed on the half-title page, in black ink; "5-13-80 / David Macaulay." A crisp, clean, otherwise unmarked copy. Pages and orange endpapers are fine, as is brown cloth hardcover. Cover is gilt titled on spine; gilt design of cathedral window on the front. Faint color fade to cloth along bottom edge, otherwise fresh and unworn. Binding, hinges and boards are tight and straight. Unclipped jacket is clean, lightly shelf rubbed; tiny tear at top of spine, small nicks along rear top edge. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. 9-1/4 x 12-1/4; 80 pages. Signed by Author. Reprint. Hard Cover. Fine/Near Fine.
