New York: Board of Water Supply of the City of New York, 1917. 1917 Edition. NEAR FINE. A bright, clean, and well bound copy. The only marking is a gift inscription on reverse of front free endpaper "To William Hadu, from his Principal, Robert S. Stantial. 3/6/18". Pages near fine; bound in very good hardcover of dark green cloth over beveled boards, blind embossed ruling on front and rear boards, gilt decoration and lettering on front, gilt lettering on spine. There is a small white spot on front cover; spine ends and corner lightly rubbed with bit of board showing at tips. Binding very good: hinges are tender but intact, no tearing to the printed floral endpapers. Illustrated with diagrams and archival photos, including views of the construction of the Croton Aqueduct tunnels and Kensico Dam. Also, charts of statistical items of interest and a brief chronology. A fascinating and scarce item of New York City history. 6-1/4 x 9-1/8"; 67 numbered pages.. Hard Cover. Near Fine.
